I'm new to web hosting. What should I know/Do to get my own web?
Here are the steps that you should follow in order to get your web up and running:

A Domain name

This is the name that identifies your web uniquely from the rest of the world. It is more like the postal address, which consists of different parts, when put together, refers to a unique location. For an example, a postal address may consist of a Country, State/City, Street and the house number. Just like that, a Full Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) is consists of few different parts, which refers to a unique location in the web, when put together.
Learn more about FQDN here.

Just like a post office delivering mails to your mailbox, by looking at the mail address on the envelope, there are DNS servers which route users to your web page by looking at the address they typed in to their web browsers. You can learn more about DNS servers and how they work by clicking here. Now, you need to register your domain information in one of these servers in order to direct people when they type in your web site name (FQDN). MySQL is an open source relational database management system. It can be used for a variety of applications, but is most commonly found on Web servers. A website that uses MySQL may include Web pages that access information from a database. These pages are often referred to as "dynamic," meaning the content of each page is generated from a database as the page loads. Websites that use dynamic Web pages are often referred to as database-driven websites.

How do I register a .lk domain?

.lk extensions are reserved for domains maintained by organisations based in, or doing business in, Sri Lanka. .lk domains have to be registered with LK Domain registry which is operated by Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. As of today, there is no automated way to get a .lk domain registered. A full guideline on LK domain registration is available at http://www.nic.lk/guidelines.html

However, you can host Sri Lankan .lk domains with us once registration is completed with respective authorities in Sri Lanka. You just need to ask the Sri Lankan domain registration authority to point you domain to our domain servers.

You can search for available LK domain names here.

Can I host multiple domains with a single package?

Yes, You can host Unlimited domains within your disk space limits. This can be done as either addon domains or domain re-directs. Also, you can have sub-domains under your main domain pointing to different places of your we-site.

What is an addon domain?

Addon Domains are domain names that point to subdirectories within your account. If your package includes Add-on Domain/s AND if you are not using FrontPage, you can have a totally different domain name associated with a subdirectory within your primary domain's hosting account. Rather than simply parking a different domain to redirect to the main (index) page of your web site, an Add-On Domain allows you to have a completely different index page (i.e. the index page of the subdirectory). It creates/uses a subdomain to do so. This subdomain, contained within a subdirectory of your hosting account, acts like a completely separate web site. In fact you can have as many completely different domains hosted within one account as your total of Primary + Add-on domain limits (and total space and bandwidth limits) allow!
